The Indian customers prefer vehicles which can carry more people at a time as family vehicles. Some of the Multi Purpose Vehicles like the Toyota Innova and the Maruti Ertiga are already very popular. The latest addition to these types of vehicles is the Honda Mobilio. The Honda brand has many world class hatchbacks and sedans. An MPV has been missing in their Indian portfolio. The 7-seater MPV Mobilio launched in July 2014 is already a hit in the Indian market.

The Honda Mobilio comes in 4 petrol and 6 diesel variants priced Rupees 6.75 to 11.88 lakh. The variants have been launched in 3 batches in July, August and September 2014. The trims are the E, S, V and V(O) in petrol and diesel and RS and RS(O) in diesel. All the variants of the vehicle have manual transmission. The petrol variants are priced Rupees 6.75 to 10.09 lakh and the diesel variants rupees 8.19 to 11.88 lakh. The Mobilio comes in colours of Majestic Blue, Crystal Black Pearl, Urban Titanium, Carnelian Red, Alabaster Silver, Brilliant Gold and Taffeta White.

Among the MPVs available in India the Honda Mobilio has the best body features. The Mobilio built on the Brio platform has projector type head lamps, a roof antenna, a rear wiper, front fog lamps and alloy wheels of unique design for the top variants. A tailgate spoiler, chrome grille, electric ORVMs in body colour, window sill garnish and the chrome handles make the exterior stylish.

The cabin of the Mobilio is spacious and loaded with features like 2 air bags, ABS, EBD, electric body coloured ORVMs, rear parking sensors with camera, a 2 DIN music system with AM/FM radio, MP3 and CD player, a touch screen and GPS system and Bluetooth for telephony. The standard cabin features include a manual AC, fabric seats, central and child lock facilities, an engine immobiliser, power windows and internally adjustable ORVMs.

The Mobilio has the segmental best fuel efficiencies with 17.3 kmpl for the petrol and 24.2 kmpl for the diesel variants. The petrol variants of the Mobilio are powered by 1497cc, 118 bhp and 145 NM torque engines and the diesel ones 1498 cc, and 99 bhp and 200 NM torque engines. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 12 sec and the top speeds are 140 kmph for the petrol and 150 for the diesel variants.

The dimensions of the Mobilio are 4386 mm length, 2652 mm wheel base and 189 mm ground clearance with a boot of 223 litres.

Top mileages, competitive prices and stylish exteriors make the Mobilio a winner among the rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Nissan Evalia.
